Let’s get this year started off right, by being a little selfish. It’s time to start focusing on you, you and you! Work on being THE BEST version of yourself for 2013. Ready, set, go…..
12.12.12
What a date to remember. Revel in the fact that we are all truly a part of history today. Never again (that’s right, NEVER) will the universe have another repetitive date. What a remarkable moment to be alive, living and breathing in this space and time. Knowing that one day in the far future, someone is going to wish that they were here “just to see what it was like.” So remember this day and seize the moments of today (and everyday), because it will never come again.
This Holiday: Don’t Forget About YOU!
Today I went to a department store and guess what I saw from wall to wall and floor to ceiling? Christmas decorations! Thanksgiving isn’t until next week, but we know that department stores like to start decorating early…really early. With the Holiday season upon us, many times we focus on how to make ourselves available to others. Where should I go for Thanksgiving? Should I have it at my house? Who should I put on my Christmas list? Should I stay home this New Year’s Eve or go out with friends?
These are just some of the questions we ask ourselves this time of year, which is why this is one of the most stressful times of the year. But in the mist of all the stress, don’t forget to take time out for yourself. We all know that the Holiday season is about giving, but what it is not about is depleting yourself. Whether it is money, time or energy, always remember, you can give a little more next year! Also, if you’re alone this holiday season, please don’t waste your time wallowing in sorrow. I know that not being with family or loved ones during the Holidays can be a bummer, but use that energy to do something positive like taking a trip to a new city or exploring new places in your own city. Believe me; it’s nothing like having a bottle of champagne all to yourself when ringing in the New Year!
Unlike previous years, I will definitely be taking some time for myself this Holiday season. It’s winter and I need to hibernate, reflect and get ready for the beautiful transitions that will come once this season is over. I suggest you do the same.
Did You Miss Me?!
I know that several weeks have past since my last posting. However, I’ve been very busy traveling, working on various projects and trying to enjoy the dog days of summer! But, I wanted to let you know that I’m still here, keeping my third eye on all current events.
I will start back posting on a regular basis and will be giving some of my thoughts on all things that I didn’t have a chance to post about. Until then, enjoy this beautiful weather and keep smiling!
Last Dance
It has been reported that disco diva Donna Summer has lost her battle with cancer. She was 63 years old. Let’s all get up and dance, to honor the Queen of Disco.
Thank you Ms. Summer for keeping us on the dancefloor!
A Change Gone Come….
As artists, we have the platform to bring awareness to the masses. It is a position that should be taken seriously by those who deem themselves as artists. Anything less is unforgivable.
In the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin tragedy, Sinead O’Connor wrote a prolific letter. I want to Thank Ms. O’Connor for her words of truth and wisdom. Click here to read.
The Most Exclusive Party
Last night, Vanity Fair hosted its annual Oscar Party. Even though it’s the most exclusive party to be invited to, click here for some pics. Enjoy!
Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. I’m not sure how many of you celebrate this, but with so much lost and turmoil that has been going on as of late, I can think of no better reason to reflect on and refrain from things that make us less than what we are meant to be.
To those who celebrate Ash Wednesday, I wish you much strength in the next 40 days.
