Guess Who’s Back?!

It’s been a long time coming, but I’m back and better than ever!  I’ve taken a necessary hiatus from this blog, but due to the current social climate I’ve decided to relaunch this blog.  Starting in October, I will go back to writing articles based on that Third Eye Point of View.  I have so much to say and so much to share.  So stay tuned and go tell your friends about it because things around here are about to go galactic!

Person of The Year

It was announced that Time magazine has officially named the Person of The Year and it is none other than Pope Francis.  Being the Catholic sinner that I am (please don’t judge or question me) I think Time magazine got it right.  As Time magazine managing editor Nancy Gibbs stated, Pope Francis is “someone who has changed the tone and perception and focus of one of the world largest institutions in an extraordinary way.  So much of what he has done in his brief nine months in office has really changed the tone that is coming out of the Vatican.  He is saying ‘We are about the healing mission of the church, and not about the theological police work that had maybe been preoccupying us.'” And I must agree.

Pope Francis has, in the most spiritual and humane way possible, bridged the gap between Catholicism and the rest of the world’s forward way of thinking.  Informing the world that God and tradition can still be intertwined in the way we view the modern world that we currently live in.  Not an easy feat for a man who is currently the face of an institution who has come under much historic scrutiny in the past decade.  I commend Pope Francis on his efforts and congratulate him on being Person of The Year.

Did You Miss Me?!

I know that several weeks have past since my last posting.  However, I’ve been very busy traveling, working on various projects and trying to enjoy the dog days of summer! But, I wanted to let you know that I’m still here, keeping my third eye on all current events.

I will start back posting on a regular basis and will be giving some of my thoughts on all things that I didn’t have a chance to post about.  Until then, enjoy this beautiful weather and keep smiling!

I’m Baaack!!!!

I know that I haven’t posted anything for a few months, but I took a little time off to reflect, refocus and re-energize myself for this upcoming year.  The Year of The Dragon will be one to remember, at least for me anyway!

In these past few months, so many current events has occurred, both in and out of the headlines.  There were many events that I would’ve blogged about, but there are times when observation becomes the only way to elevate our intellect, as well as cultivate our opinions.  So that was what I decided to do…observe my surroundings and internalize my thoughts and opinions.   By educating myself through travel and experience, I have changed both personally & professionally.   Change is something I, not only look forward to, but embrace.  It the one thing that is necessary to evolve, and evolution means growth.

So let’s get ready for a new year of intellectual topics, discussions and observations from a Third Eye View!

Sparkle: The Movie

I think this is summing up to be the hit movie some fans have been waiting for.

The movie remake for the 1976 film Sparkle, has a talented cast consisting of Jordin Sparks, Whitney Houston, Carmen Ejogo, Tika Sumpter, Omari Hardwick, Derek Luke, Mike Epps and newly added cast member, Cee-Lo Green.  Husband and wife team Salim Akil and Mara Brock Akil are the director and script writer for the movie.   As for the soundtrack, original music will be written by none other than the King of R&B, R. Kelly.  After the great work he did on the Life soundtrack, this will surely be a chart topper.  What are your thoughts?

The release date for the movie is 2012.  For more information, click here.

Blossoming in May

Spring brings a type of rejuvenation that we all yearn for.  Whether it be a rejuvenated spirit, wardrobe or home furnishings, we should all bask in the newness that the month of May offers.

Take a class, learn a language, travel, discover or rediscover something that has always intrigued you, but above all, bloom into May by blossoming in undiscovered terrain.

New Year…New Dreams…New Problems…New Solutions!!!

For many of us, New Year’s Eve brings on new sights for a new horizon.  Accomplishing what we envision for the upcoming year however, is no easy task.

One of the things that I’ve learned this past year is that if you set smaller goals, sometimes you get bigger results!  It may sound crazy but it’s true.  Previous years, I had a long list of goals that I would set out to accomplish by the year’s end.  However out of the 10 goals listed, only two or three got accomplished.  What I realized was that my goals were big and it takes time to strategically plan and accomplish huge goals.  But last year, I had two major goals that I wanted to accomplish.  With diligent planning and consistency I was actually able to accomplish more than the two major goals on my list and am a goal or two ahead for 2011!

So I encourage everyone to Dream Big, Plan Strategically and Work Consistently toward accomplishing whatever goals you may have.  Let’s get ready for 2011!!

Happy New Year 🙂 🙂
